Nature & Ecology
- Just a short distance away, in Diakofto, begins the rack railway that carries you on a unique, breathtaking journey up to Kalavryta — for a stroll, a coffee, the historical museum, a meal — or, a little earlier, to Zachlorou for a meal beneath deep-shaded plane trees.
- Running alongside the railway is the European E4 hiking trail, passing through this remarkable route, a designated Natura protected area.
- On a day trip to Kalavryta, the Cave of the Lakes, 13 km further south, awaits with its 13 lakes across 3 levels (two open to visitors) and its rare, wild beauty.
- Lake Tsivlos is another spot of natural interest, ideal for a day trip to the beautiful mountain village of Zarouchla — a lake formed by a landslide in the early twentieth century.
After each excursion, on your way back, the Corinthian gulf beach will reward you with the swim and the relaxation you'll be looking for!
